The APEX Whole House Acid Neutralizing Water Filter System contain naturally occurring, crushed and screened calcium carbonate media. Filter is recommended to neutralize corrosive, acidic water supplies. Acidic water can cause the leaching of unhealthy levels of copper from pipes and cause greenish-blue stains on fixtures, bath tubs and toilets. Copper and lead solder leaching (heavy metals) is a health issue for children and adults. Acidic water can drastically shorten the life of all water-using equipment, including dishwashers, washing machines and hot water heaters. Acidic water is especially problematic in commercial applications using expensive water-using equipment like washing machines, manufacturing processes, high-volume coffee machines and ice machines

When acid water is passed through the APEX filter, the granular calcium carbonate neutralizes the acids and gives the water a neutral pH and eliminates the damaging, corrosive properties. Corrosion damage to pipes, faucets, dish washers and hot water heaters is eliminated. One of the advantages of calcium carbonate is its self-limiting property. The APEX filter corrects pH only enough to reach a non-corrosive pH and cannot cause high pH problems. Filter uses a large media tank that provides an adequate flow rate for whole house and commercial applications. The APEX Filter is controlled by an advanced Fleck electronic control valve. The Fleck electronic control valve regulates and monitors the backwashing of the Whole House Acid-Neutralizing Calcium Carbonate System. The electronic control valve automatically backwashes and cleans the calcium carbonate media based on water usage. This keeps the filter system working efficiently and eliminates media compaction. The easy to use key pads and digital display allow for a quick and easy set-it and forget-it start-up.
